Vex | Charlemagne | Fate/Grand Order - Abilities

Powers/abilities:

Servant Nature:-
A Servant is a form of summoned familiar created by magecraft. Legendary figures from history and mythology are sublimated into a record that exists outside of time known as the Throne of Heroes, and become Heroic Spirits, guardians of humanity. Though these Heroic Spirits are far too grand and vast to be called upon in their raw form, it is possible to create a "container" that limits their powers, allowing them to be called upon to fight or aid humanity in times of need, or to face one another in a bloody competition to claim a wish-granting "Holy Grail."

All Servants are inherently superior to almost all humans in all physical characteristics—they are stronger, faster, more enduring, etc. Additionally, due to being constructs of mana, they can heal from injuries that would kill others and even restore lost limbs so long as their "Spiritual Core" is intact. (As the heart and head are both connected to the Spiritual Core, damage to these areas is more dangerous, and can damage or destroy the Spiritual Core that allows Servants to exist.) Servants do not need to sleep or eat, though sleeping reduces the amount of energy they consume and eating food can be metabolised into magical energy, and they can also enter a "spiritual form", a disembodied and invisible state where they consume the bare minimum amount of mana and can pass through solid objects at will, though magical defenses designed to repel spirits will stop them. Finally, a Servant is capable of consuming the souls of the living in order to metabolise them into mana much as they do food, though souls provide an extremely large amount of mana relative to food.

As a Saber class Servant, Charlemagne has extremely high parameters:
- A Rank Strength
- C Rank Endurance
- B Rank Agility
- A Rank Mana
- A Rank Luck

With top class Strength, Mana, and Luck, above average Agility, and average Endurance, he exists within the upper echelons of Servants in raw stats, and can stand up to the highest rank of Servant in a straight fight.

Finally, as a Servant, Charlie is capable of undergoing Spirit Origin Ascension, a process that empowers him and changes his appearance. Through this process, Charlie can ascend to a more powerful form that functions as a perfect blend of his younger self with the powers of his older self, increasing his abilities even further.

Unique Skills:-
Swordsmanship and Melee: Charlie is an excellent physical combatant, bringing high physical parameters and immense skill with his chosen weapons to the table. While he traditionally wields his longsword Joyeuse, Charlie is also capable of temporarily wielding the weapons of his Paladins, which include a shortsword, a large halberd, a massive hammer, and an ornate, magical lance that can stun his enemies with a hit, each of these appearing and disappearing at his command and allowing him to mix up his assault on his enemies.

Pseudo-Knight: Charlemagne's Twelve Paladins are incarnated alongside him as a set of twelve flying swords he can command at will, six red and six blue. These blades can be manifested or dispersed at his command, and can be used for offense and defense at range and up close. At their full power, Charlemagne can charge them with magical energy and order them to release a colourful burst of destructive elemental energy that devastates everything in its path.

Elemental Control: The weapons of his Paladins don't merely offer him physical attacks, but also allow him to control the elements to add to his attacks. His shortsword allows him to control ice, his halberd and lance allow him to control wind, his hammer allows him to control earth, and his personal sword Joyeuse allows him to control fire. He can switch between weapons and elements rapidly, allowing him to perform combined assaults that are difficult to defend against, or he can merge all elements into one for a singularly powerful slash.

Mana Burst (Light) - A: A variation of the Mana Burst skill that is only capable of being wielded by saints and holy knights. Mana Burst allows the user to expel magical energy from their body or weapons in order to enhance their physical performance, working the same way as a jet engine would. This light-elemental version allows Charlemagne to project his magical energy as light itself, resulting in extremely powerful attacks that are especially effective against the evil and the unholy.

Holy Knight Emperor - EX: This skill embodies Charlemagne's nature as the King of the Twelve Paladins, providing him with a variety of buffs at all times. He obtains tremendous Charisma, suitable for leading armies and individuals alike, receives bonuses to his offensive prowess against the demonic and his defensive prowess against the divine, and displays an increased affinity for holy weaponry. Finally, it is this skill which allows him to use his Noble Phantasm where his future self cannot.

Kingship Traversal - C: A self-discipline type skill that requires Charlemagne to act in a certain way to strengthen himself, but weakens him when he acts against it. Essentially, Charlemagne's parameters rise when he's doing something "cool", and are forcibly lowered when doing something "lame".

Magic Resistance - A: A skill possessed by all Sabers which allows them to resist the effects of all forms of magic. At this rank, all spells of A-rank or below are cancelled without exception regardless of what form of greater magecraft they take. Broadly speaking, Charlemagne is effectively immune to modern magecraft.

Riding - A: A skill possessed by all Sabers which allows them to command vehicles. At this rank, all vehicles and creatures, modern, historical, or mythical, can be commanded expertly without practice. The sole exception to this are magical creatures of the Phantasmal or Divine Beast rank.

Oraclization - Ascended Only: Through his access to the powers of his future self, Charlie can make use of the Oraclization phenomenon that Karl the Great possessed during their conflict. While Karl used this power to brainwash and seize control of other living beings, Charlie uses this power solely for combat, projecting it as a dark-blue mist struck through with tendrils of blue light to attack a wide range at once.

Noble Phantasms:-
What separates a Heroic Spirit from other familiars is their possession of the sacred tools known as Noble Phantasms, crystallizations of their legend that embody every aspect of the hero or villain that has been summoned. They are traditionally the most powerful abilities available to a Servant and can take almost any form from a weapon, an armor, an item, a spell, a special ability, a passive effect upon the world, or even an embodiment of their own inner world. Charlemagne, as a top-class Servant, possesses three.

Charles Patricius: My Fleeting Glory (?? Rank): Charlie can create and maintain a large floating fortress that can be used as a mobile command centre while fighting a war. This fortress possesses a large dormitory with space for upwards of thirty people, a barracks, a church, and a supply cache sufficient to provide for his miniature army.

Joyeuse (?? Rank): Charlemagne's holy blade, said to change colour thirty times in a single day, bearing the head of the holy lance of Longinus in the pommel. This holy blade empowers all of Charlie's abilities, and unlike his future self he is capable of using it to its full potential as part of his third Noble Phantasm.

Joyeuse Ordre: Exemplify the King's Heroics, O' Twelve Traveling Swords (EX Rank): The ultimate power of Joyeuse, allowing Charlemagne to fly into the sky on wings of light and then to either fire forth a beam of holy light or to rush forward to strike his enemy with the holy light in melee. By itself, this attack is comparable to the blade Durandal of his Paladin Roland, an A-Rank blade, and indeed Charlemagne would lose in a direct clash between the two as he is more of a king than a knight.

The true power of Joyeuse Ordre, however, is that it calls upon not only his own prowess, but the legends of the Twelve Paladins as well. When Charlemagne acts upon his kingly courage, when he shows the true dignity of a king, another "Joyeuse" is added to the strike, one for each of his Twelve Paladins. Each of these blades can fire their own beam of elemental light, or they can fly alongside Charlemagne to attack up close. Put simply, the attack can become thirteen times stronger than its original power, though this effect is further multiplied by Charlemagne's kingly charisma. At its full power, this is a strike that not even the mighty Herakles or the skilled Miyamoto Musashi can equal, sufficient to clash with an Anti-God Noble Phantasm or destroy the impregnable barrier-walls of Constantinople.
