demon compendium.
DEMON COMPENDIUM
As new locations are unlocked, each character's COMP will scan the area and update the compendium with the new demon information, which include their name, strength, weakness, skills, habitat, and a brief description of the demon. The Google sheet provides a quick view of the demons and is color coded by element. More details about the demon including its appearance and description is included in the comments below.
Characters can have a maximum of two demons registered in their COMP at any given time, which can be recruited through negotiation, bribery, or coercion. Most demons seem to have a taste for blood (player's choice re. tastiness), although will just as eagerly feed off of a character's magical energy (SP, MP, etc). Demons tend to be more active during the nighttime compared to the day, and are at their most dangerous on the night of the full moon (IC Day 0-1, Day 30, Day 60, etc), and cannot be negotiated with on those dates. While wild demons won't be found in certain areas (train, greenhouse, church), contracted demons can still be summoned in those locations.
Summoned demons will materialize for the duration of the battle or task at hand before returning to the COMP. A registered demon which is defeated will remain inactive inside the COMP and will heal over time. Once a demon is released, it can no longer be summoned by the COMP but that particular demon can still be re-encountered out in the wild.
Attacks can be physical, or elemental: fire, ice, electric, force (synonymous to wind). Other skills include healing, and causing ailments such as poison, sleep, confusion, etc.

Unfortunately for the Bicorn, Sylvain practically grew up on horseback so the bicorn was destined to lose.

Character: Nao Mizushita
Current demons: N/A
Location: Just outside the forest
New demon: Yatagarasu
Notes: So, picture this anime sequence: Nao finally making it out of the forest and taking a breather with her hands on her knees. She looks up and Yatagarasu is just there perching, looking down at her. Like so. They stare for what seems like an eternity, then Nao, realizing that Yatagarasu is Yatagarasu and remembering it's one of Ammy's sunny boys and that its appearance is usually interpreted as evidence of Heaven's will or divine intervention re: human affairs, very eloquently utters, "Oh, you have gotta be kidding me!"
Yatagarasu agrees. This devolves into the kind of stupidity that can only be had between a night-time bad-time spider youkai-human hybrid vs the sun goddess' divine messenger. This is a thing and it continues to devolve into further stupidity because Nao is rude and Yatagarasu is Ye Olde. They eventually contract with each other with each party thinking they've pulled one over on the other with the sort of internal monologue that would harken back to the days of JoJos.

After playing the part of skillful dodger and wearing him down a bit, there was dialogue wherein accusations were made about who is the liar and deserves to be gored. It got ridiculous. The stubborn goat was eventually contracted thusly: In exchange for borrowing Xiezhai's power, Nao will feed him one meaningful truth per day so long as they are contracted.
